I decided, on a whim, to sign up for the Daring Baker's Challenge. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. All I knew is I wanted to try something different in the kitchen for a change.

The September 2009 Daring Bakers' challenge was hosted by Steph of A Whisk and a Spoon. She chose the French treat, Vols-au-Vent based on the Puff Pastry recipe by Michel Richard from the cookbook Baking With Julia by Dorie Greenspan.

You know you want to see how mine turned out...go ahead, you're about to be amazed, especially if you are familiar with my former flops in the kitchen.
